'People are afraid' - why 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the squad everyone fears.

There's no doubt why Arsenal are now many people's preferred choice to secure the Premier League in the current campaign.

Look at their outcomes against West Ham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those same matches last season.

The Gunners have overcome all of them during this campaign, but lost 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race in the prior campaign.

Defensive Dominance

Arsenal's backline resilience is a key reason why they are appearing strong to finally fulfil their title target.

They rank top for clean sheets (6), goals conceded (3), attempts against (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is possibly the best in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Expertise

Their effectiveness from free kicks is well known, but opposition teams still struggle to stop the Gunners from these situations.

They have scored 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just afraid of them and it is great to see."

Championship Claims

What is especially impressive about Arsenal's beginning to the campaign is they have also faced Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United on the road and Manchester City on home turf - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their traditional rivals face difficulties. This marks the first time at this stage of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on boss Mikel Arteta at the beginning, having allocated around £250m on eight summer signings in search of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the investment has so far yielded results in style, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and boasting the tightest defense, despite multiple injuries.

  • Shutouts in three straight Premier League games
  • Nearly 6.5 hours without conceding a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and experts have labeled Arteta's men as a "juggernaut, looking difficult to stop" with the whole club now performing with conviction and resolve.
